Limit switches, also known as position switches or travel switches, is a mechanical switch commonly used in industrial automation and mechanical control systems. Its main function is to detect and control the movement position of a machine or device to ensure the safety and accuracy of operation.
Limit switches are usually installed at specific positions of machines or equipment, such as extreme positions, intermediate positions or other critical positions. When the machine moves to these preset positions, the limit switch is triggered to generate a signal, which can be an open or closed electrical signal to control the on and off of the circuit or trigger other control actions.
In industrial applications, limit switches can be used to control the start, stop, direction change, and speed regulation of the machine. Since they can directly contact mechanical parts, they must have a certain mechanical strength and durability to adapt to various industrial environments.
